scrapunzel: My name is Niccy. Also Known As… Mum, Mummy, Nixie and, on occasion, ‘the-dirty-harlot-who-stole-my-firstborn’. I’m a Faery Tailor (anyone else put that on their census form?), mum, partner, hedgewitch (does that stand out if it’s in a big list?), keen baker, green-eco-type hippy (although there are no Birkenstocks in this house), soapmaker and, now, a blogger. Family: The Man, Teen-Boy, Pixie-Girl and Malenky Kot. The Man: several years younger than me (wicked witch that I am), likes gardening, baking and photography Teen-Boy: 17, loves all kinds of transport, bakes the best cookies in the world, is rubbish at doing the usual teenage-mopey-’I'm bored’-kind of thing (thankfully) Pixie-Girl: 3, loves faeries (well, what did you expect?), has, I suspect, the biggest collection of teddies in the world, chooses fruit over cake and has developed an obsession with putting said enormous teddy collection to bed (in mummy and daddy’s bed, of course) Malenky Kot: keen bird-watcher, loves butternut squash and cold tea (milk and two sugars), gives the best kitty-cuddles ever You can call me Scrapunzel.
